I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix . Q+ p, o& g' B0 q9 l6 d T' |; @! o" f* l4 V0 r: A3 h; T/ g3 c
